President Brad Keck called the General Meeting to order at the Washington County Agricultural Extension Office. 52 were in attendance.
Brad thanked Steve Roberts for providing food and drinks.
· Vic Mathis announced that the Club now has 501 (C) 3 nonprofit tax status.
· A motion as made that in the event of the club being dissolved, all assets of the club shall be donated to Washington and Bentonville Counties in equal measure. The motion was seconded and carried.
· A motion was made to remove current Vice President from office. The motion was seconded and carried. A request for new Vice President nominations was made.
Linda Lowry was introduced as the new Apprenticeship Program leader.
New attendees were introduced.
Vic announced that he had American Bee Journal subscription forms if anyone wanted one.
Brad introduced Dr. Don Steinkraus
Dr. Steinkraus gave a fantastic presentation on the Pathology of Honey Bees.
Dr. Steinkraus discussed distinctions between Pathogens and Disease.
He said it was a good time for bees as there are many programs about bees available. There are also digital cameras that make it easier to document bee information. He said that there is now much data concerning bees and their problems, making it easier to get help for troubled hives.
We thank Dr. Steinkraus for a fine presentation and look forward to seeing him again soon.
