Meeting opened by President Brad Keck
Treasurer Vic Mathis reported that he had secured a 501C tax status for the club.
Member Kathy Ebsen gave a short comment on lemon grass and its use as a swarm lure. She then gave out lemon grass starts to all members present.
Brad Keck gave a great presentation on Mead: it’s origin and production. Briefly, it is possibly the first alcoholic beverage. It is made from mixing honey, yeast, and water. Various chemical agents are added for various reasons including malic acid, tartaric acid, Camden crush, tannin for flavor and energizer which is a yeast booster. Many folks add various fruit juices or spices as well for different flavors . Brad offered some mead he had made to those who wanted a taste. It was VERY good!!! Thank you, Brad for a very informative presentation.
Thanks to Michele Skogen and Michele Wisdom for bringing the food and drinks.
NEXT MONTH WILL BE THE CLUB POT LUCK DINNER. PLEASE JOIN IN THE FUN AND FEEL FREE TO BRING YOUR FAVORITE SIDE DISH OR DESERT. MEAT WILL BE PROVIDED BY THE CLUB.
